Turkish Income Tax Calculator 2025

Calculate Turkish income tax with the 2025 progressive brackets.

Calculated using 2025 Turkish income tax brackets.

How it is calculated

The tool applies the 2025 wage-earner (ücret) income tax tariff in the data file: 15% up to 158,000, 20% from 158,000 to 330,000, 27% from 330,000 to 1,200,000, 35% from 1,200,000 to 4,300,000 and 40% above that. Tax is marginal: each slice of income is taxed only at its own bracket rate, tax = Σ (slice × rate). Net = income - total tax, and the effective rate is total tax / income. The amount is treated as a cumulative annual taxable income in lira. The tool does not subtract social security contributions, allowances or exemptions, so enter the base you already worked out. Other tariffs, for example for non-wage income, differ above the second bracket.

Worked example

Annual taxable income of 1,000,000 ₺. First slice: 158,000 × 15% = 23,700. Second slice: (330,000 - 158,000) = 172,000 × 20% = 34,400. Third slice: (1,000,000 - 330,000) = 670,000 × 27% = 180,900. Total tax = 23,700 + 34,400 + 180,900 = 239,000.00 ₺. Net = 1,000,000 - 239,000 = 761,000.00 ₺, and the effective rate is 23.90%, well below the top 27% bracket reached.

Common mistakes

  • Applying the top bracket rate (27%) to the whole income. Only the part above 330,000 is taxed at 27%.
  • Entering a monthly salary when the brackets are annual and cumulative; a single month rarely reaches the higher brackets, but the whole year does.
  • Entering gross pay before social security deductions and expecting the exact payslip figure. The tool taxes the number you give it.
  • Using the 2025 tariff for income earned in another year, or for non-wage income.

About this calculator

This calculator applies Turkey's 2025 progressive income tax brackets to an annual taxable income, taxing each portion of income at its own rate (15%, 20%, 27%, 35%, then 40% for the top bracket) rather than applying one flat rate to the whole amount, then shows the amount left after income tax (SGK and unemployment contributions, stamp tax and the minimum-wage exemption are not applied).

Accountants preparing or checking 2025 filings, payroll staff reconciling 2025 payslips, and anyone comparing 2025 with the current year use it to see how much income tax a given 2025 tax base carried under that year's brackets.

Brackets are cumulative over the calendar year, which explains why payslips can shrink part-way through the year: the tax rate steps up the month your running total crosses a threshold. This page covers only the 2025 wage tariff. At a base of 1,000,000 TL an extra 100,000 TL is taxed at 27%, so 27,000 TL more. For 2026 income use the current-year page. Which part of your payslip or return are you trying to reconcile?
