Reverse Text Tool
Flip your text backwards character by character.
Result
How it is calculated
The tool splits the text into individual Unicode characters and writes them back in the opposite order, so the last character becomes the first. It works on characters, not bytes, so accented letters such as ü, ğ or é and most non-Latin scripts stay intact instead of turning into garbage. Spaces, digits and punctuation are treated like any other character and keep their place in the mirrored order. Capital letters stay capital letters at the same character, they are not re-cased. An empty box gives no result. Note that characters made of several code points, such as some emoji or letters with separate combining accents, can be separated when reversed.
Worked example
Input: Oda 42 Ankara. It has 13 characters including the space. Read from the end: a, r, a, k, n, A, space, 2, 4, space, a, d, O. Joined together, the result is araknA 24 adO. Reversing the result again restores the original text, which is a quick way to check that nothing was lost.
Common mistakes
- Expecting the words to swap places. The tool reverses letters, so "hello world" becomes "dlrow olleh", not "world hello".
- Assuming the capital letters move to the start of the new words. Case belongs to each character, so the capital M ends up at the end.
- Pasting text with a trailing space or newline: it becomes a leading space in the result.
- Using it for right-to-left languages and expecting readable output. Reversed Arabic or Hebrew is stored in the opposite logical order and may display oddly.
About this calculator
This tool reverses the character order of any text string, so the last character becomes the first and the first becomes the last, turning "hello" into "olleh." It works purely on the sequence of characters, including spaces and punctuation, without altering or interpreting the content itself.
People use it to create palindrome-style wordplay and social media novelty posts, to generate mirrored text for puzzles and word games, and programmers use a quick reverse tool to sanity-check string manipulation logic — such as palindrome detection — while writing or debugging code by hand before implementing it. It's also occasionally used as a very light obfuscation to make a short piece of text unreadable at a glance, similar in spirit to ROT13 but working on character order rather than substitution.

Line breaks count as characters too, so a multi-line text comes back with its lines in reverse order as well as each line mirrored. That is handy for a quick palindrome test: reverse the phrase, then compare it with the original by eye after ignoring spaces and punctuation. If you only want each line or each word flipped in place, this tool will not do it directly. Which variant do you need, reversed words or reversed line order?
