Text to ASCII / Unicode Codes
Convert text to character codes.
Result
How it is calculated
Each character is read from the UTF-8 bytes of your text and converted to its Unicode code point, shown as a decimal number. The codes are separated by spaces, one per character, in the same order. For plain English letters, digits and punctuation this matches the classic ASCII table (0 to 127), for example A = 65, a = 97, 0 = 48 and a space is 32. Characters beyond ASCII, such as ç, ş, € or emoji, produce larger numbers because UTF-8 stores them in two to four bytes that the tool combines back into one code point. Empty text gives no result.
Worked example
Enter Hi!. H is code point 72, i is 105 and ! is 33. The output is 72 105 33. Notice that the capital H (72) and lowercase h (104) differ by 32, which is the usual offset between upper and lower case in ASCII.
Common mistakes
- Expecting hexadecimal or binary output; the codes are decimal numbers.
- Forgetting that spaces and line breaks have codes too (32 for a space) and are counted.
- Assuming every character is below 128; accented letters and emoji give larger Unicode values.
- Mixing up uppercase and lowercase letters, whose codes differ by 32.

About this calculator
This tool converts each character in your text into its numeric character code — the decimal value that computers actually use to store and process that character, based on ASCII for standard Latin characters and Unicode code points for everything beyond it (accented letters, emoji, Turkish ç/ş/ğ, Cyrillic, CJK, and so on).
Programmers use it to debug encoding issues, look up escape codes for special characters in code, or understand why a piece of text isn't sorting or comparing as expected; students and puzzle-solvers use it for cipher and encoding exercises. Because it distinguishes ASCII (0–127) from the wider Unicode range, it also makes clear which characters are "safe" for older systems and which require UTF-8 or similar encoding.

This tool is a quick way to catch invisible characters in pasted text. A normal space is 32, but text copied from web pages often hides a non-breaking space (160) or a zero-width space (8203) that looks identical on screen. If a comparison or search fails for no visible reason, paste the text here and scan the numbers. Which odd character has broken one of your files?
